Presale Support: Does the ADVC55 do NTSC & PAL?

Yes, it will do both, but you need a true NTSC video source. Most PAL players when playing a NTSC source will output a pseudo-NTSC signal, which modern TVs can display but the ADVC55 will not decode it.

I am looking to purchase an ADVC55 to digitise some PAL and NTSC video sources. The fine print says that PAL and NTSC are supported but the box (at my local AppleCentre is marked PAL (not NTSC or SECAM) Is this just the pre-configuration of the dip switches?
