A time-base corrector is a video processing device, therefore the video should be passed through it, before the final destination.

I am not familiar with the advc canopus 55 and don't know if it has a TBC inside, I have the Edius SP card (a 5k card when I bought it and it does not have a TBC and the signal jitters from analogue sources if I try to capture without TBC)

the datavideo TBC range is pretty affordable and good

i really need to buy a tbc , because i just swa the playback and it jitters literally every 5 seconds and its too much for me to convert every little bit so i want to go for a tbc.

i was thinking of this one, is it any good?

hi thanks a lot, for suggesting that i make clip of it, i did that and watched it back and it didn't flicker :):)

when i rencode the clip and imported it back to the timeline the flickering goes away :)

so now what i need to do is find a codec so it doesn't look blurry or lost of quality. But i main problem seems like it has been solved yey!

    thanks

Thanks to everyone who has helped me out here especially THoff, who pointed out that the flickering is normal. :)

maybe the field order is incorrect

if it is upper, try lower, if it is lower, try upper

what flickers? the centre of the video or the edges or everything?

it is hard to tell from a still what flickers because a still does not move
