Default NewBlue Titler 2

Hi just been trying the New Titler 2
I have a couple of problems or I haven't understood the info, any one else found this

1: None of my previous NB filters / Transitions appear in the library, only the Animation and Starter Pack, may be a limitation of the trial, I thought it allowed the use of other filters etc

2: Any movement of the text or shapes etc is not smooth, it is as if it is Progressive; scrolling the text jitters across or up and down the screen depending which way you go, Layouter does this really smoothly

I have invoked the "Use motion Blur when rendering" and "Smooth Interpolation" but that only changes the start and stop curve
Most of the NB filters have an "Interlace" box that can cure that but cannot find in titler?
Project setting is 1920x1080 50i
Have not tried "Vis Titler" too slow to download the trial, does it work any better on text movement
Regards Barry

You will have to reinstall all of your other NB plugins in order to see them in Titler 1 or 2.
I would download Vistitle and try it for yourself. The short answer to your playback question is yes.

Thanks Jerry
I finally waited for Vistitle to download only to find the full version wont install unless you have the dongle and the trial does not work with 6.5, so I think I will just stick with Boris and still images that can be manipulated in Layouter and with the GPU transitions
We did a workshop at the local video club the other day and using layouter to isolate each letter and by layering the timeline quite an impressive title was made using GPU transitions and each letter flying in, the possiblities were endless
Thanks for the info
Regards Barry

I got Titler 2 when I got the upgrade to Vegas 12. When loaded it does appear in Edius, Vegas and CS6 which I thought would be very handy for me. However it still doesn't do what I want which is the ability to import a text file and rearrange using tabs. Something TMPro does very well which is why I am still on Edius 6.07. Will wait for some updates.

The particular feature I want is to create the Production Crew scroll at the end of the video. I get this as a text file and want to rearrange to be left and right justified easily. In TMPRo this is easy as it deals with the whole group of letters in either direction. I left justify the whole group then pick a point in the line of text having set the tab for left justify on the right and tab until I get to that tab point. None of the other titlers seem to be able to do this as they only work on the single word rather than the whole group to the right of the cursor. They can move single word correctly but not a phrase or group of words.

Getting a scroll in Vistitle is very easy, after you learn how. Let me put it this way. The GPU effects power in Edius is pretty much matched, if not improved, in
Vistitle. This is achieved with a relatively inexpensive video card. To get RT out of NB 1 or 2, dual 580's or a GTX 690 is required. These reports have been posted here on the forum. My GTX 570 chokes on the majority of the animations. My Vistitle effects smoke through even with the 3d metallic text with animation.

I have put in a request to VX Chen to come up with some filters for Edius. I know these would be realtime, just as if they were written by the GV team as a
native effect. If you are interested in something like that, let it be known to VX.

I checked on the trial version and it is version 1.5....we are at 2.1 now. That is why it will not work in 6.5x.

That is also very easy to do in Boris, providing the Tab's are in the text it is only a matter of bringing in the file and setting left right or centred tabs and the whole credit conforms
Any change just select and reset tabs
I was more interested in something more adventurous for opening titles

Jerry you have given me confidence and I think I will order Vistitle, from what I have now researched it looks close to what I am after

Forgot I still have 6 on my laptop and the trial works surprisingly smooth, although very basic the bevel ability quite surprised me, there seems to be a number of additions available which are in the area of usefulness, so after all it is only money, a few nights in the dog house never hert anyone

Thanks for the help
Barry

I have the Boris RED trial and Vistitle trial and to me they seem the same as NewBlue and Premiere titlers in that they work great for a two column rolling credit if typed in two columns. Column 1 can be left justified and column 2 right justified. The only tutorials I can find describe this method too. I will try again setting up the text in word with the appropriate tabs to see if that works in RED but at the moment see no reference to this at all in the help files or any of the tutorials I can find.

I get the information as a pdf from which I extract the text and save as a text or rtf file. I import and do the layout in TMPRo which has 5 adjustable tab points and I cannot find references to tabs at all in most of the other titlers !!! Other than using Tab to move between the 2 columns!!! They have incredibly effects that I do not want at all but not the simplest of things a titler in my mind needs in providing a comprehensive text editor. Am I missing something. I can't be the only person who gets the credits etc as a text file. Does everyone else retype all this into their titlers ?

Input to tutorials etc for any of these new titlers would be welcome because to the moment I see myself staying on Edius 6.07 !!!

I'm in total agreement. I recently purchased NewBlue Titler V1 and it can do some snazzy animated 3D stuff, but if I need basic scrolling credits I have to use QuickTitler.

If you get your titles as a text file it can be imported directly into Vistitle to make a scroll. It is created in a text dialogue and not in the
Main preview window.

Ron
I looks like I misled you with Boris
Just had a quick look they have disbled the TAB in the text box that was there in Version 4 so I have asked them to re activate 4 on my computer as that was just great
Havn't made a complicated scroll for some time since I went to 5, amazing how people remove the real useful items from their programs at times

At least Boris 4 and 5 can co exist
