#1.....I have a brand new ADVCmini and I am moving old video from an old Sony 8mm camcorder...I have been downloading 30 minute increments.....the first 3 half hour downloads were no problem.....it has now started to "cut out" and stop at one minute, 6 minutes, various times........any recommendations here?
#2.....Also, is there a way to redirect the download to an external hard drive instead of it defaulting to my hard drive? Any assistance would be appreciated....thanks!! |

What software are you using to capture the video? Most capture software has a setting to turn "device control" on or off. You could try turning it off, because when it is turned on, the capture software may be telling the ADVC to stop capturing when the software detects a break (which may just be a glitch in the tape).
If it is an old tape, you may need to get an inline Time Base Corrector (TBC) to restore the signals. Search this forum for "TBC" to see relevant posts. Ken. |

I too just bought the ADVCmini and I have the same question as themurphs' second question. Is there a way to default the video capture to an external drive rather than the iMovie default local drive?
